Topic: Regional exchange of experience for collective trauma of corona matrix in Latin America
Time: Jul 23, 2020 05:00 PM Rome
Join Zoom Meeting
Meeting ID: 898 7110 6667

Yatma saati ondu. “Bollingen’de
gerçek yaşamımın tam ortasında, en kendim olduğum yerdeyim,” diye yazmıştı
Jung. “... Elektriksiz yaşıyorum; şömineyi ve gazocağını kendim yakıyorum.
Akşamları eski lambaları yakıyorum. Su tesisatı yok, suyu kuyudan çekiyorum.
Odun kesip yemek pişiriyorum. Bu basit işler insanı basitleştiriyor; basit
olmak da öyle zor ki!”

WORKSHOP WITH DR. GIACOMUCCI
Today Dr. Scott Giacomucci presented a workshop, "Cultivating Vicarious Post-Traumatic Growth: Psychodramatic Mutual Aid for the Helpers" with psychologists and psychodrama students in Ukraine and Turkey through the Dr. Ali Babaoglu Jungian Psychodrama Institute.
We started with a presentation on the basic concepts of Sociatry, Collective Trauama, vicarious trauma, burnout, and vicarious post traumatic growth. Then moved into concretizing strengths (personal, relational, group, and societal) needed to grow from vicarious trauma. Considering the multi-lingual nature of the group, we used movement and body language to express and embody our strengths.
The workshop culminated in a sociodrama process exploring a vicariously traumatized psychologist's work with a client before and after connecting with self-care, strengths, and vicarious post-traumatic growth. Some of the most powerful insights were shared from the client role to the psychologist comparing their experience with a vicariously traumatized psychologist and a psychologist engaged in self care.
Cultivating
Vicarious Post-Traumatic Growth: Psychodramatic Mutual Aid for the Helpers
May 3rd, 2020
In the midst of this pandemic, healthcare workers are enrolled as frontline emergency responders and all psychotherapists enrolled as trauma therapists. The collective trauma and loss upon society impacts patients and professionals alike. Professionals are even more susceptible to vicarious trauma and burnout due to the intensity of the work and the inability to separate one’s self from it.

The collective trauma and loss upon society impacts patients and professionals alike. Professionals are even more susceptible to vicarious trauma and burnout due to the intensity of the work and the inability to separate one’s self from it.
This workshop will help participants identify
signs of vicarious trauma while engaging in a mutual aid process together.
Strength-based sociometry and psychodrama processes will be employed to
highlight each group member’s inherent ability to contribute to the well-being
of each other. The concept of vicarious post-traumatic growth will be
emphasized with a visioning and concretization of growth after this collective
and vicarious trauma. Participants will learn basic teletherapy experiential
tools while contributing to the self-care of self and others.
